Our Desire...is to Love God with all of our Heart, Soul, Mind, And Strength.
To Love God With ...All of Our Heart
We believe a high emphasis should be placed on community relationships. The Church community should promote laughing, loving, and playing together in large group, and small group experiences. It’s easy to talk about love; it’s harder to really live it out with real people. Our relationships to each other prove that God’s love is at work within our hearts. For many of us today, as we fall in love with God, we re-learn the true meaning of love. Often, people’s broken images of fathers, mothers, families, authority figures, marriages, and other meaningful relationships, block healthy expressions of love, and understanding of who God is. Healing and health come to us as we begin to rethink those broken images on God’s design and plan which means loving all people as Jesus loves them (I John 4:7-8, I John 4:20-21).
To Love God With...All of Our Soul
We believe that when all is stripped away, we are left with our basic character of who we are; this is our soul. We believe the church should place high emphasis on art forms, which inspire the soul to worship the Lord. The church community recognizes God has given talents to individuals in the arts, as expressions of worship for the inspiration of the group. Photography, music, video, drama, dancing, painting, sculpture, creative writing and any other form of the fine arts should be used to inspire our souls, to contemplate God, and express our love to Him. Since we see the arts as acts of worship, we believe in training and practice in these areas (Ephesians 5:19-20, Exodus 31:1-6).
To Love God With ...All of Our Mind
We believe the church should place high emphasis on personal knowledge of God’s word, and the skills to apply its truths. We believe that we should do our best to learn and practice the truths taught in the Bible. The Holy Spirit inspired the Bible as God’s instructional Word to us. The Bible tells us about God and spiritual matters, providing the foundation for our worldview. It guides us in human relationships, telling us how to treat one another, how to make decisions, and how to pattern our lives. It should be the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21).
To Love God With ...All of Our Strength
We believe the church should place a high emphasis on proclaiming Jesus, as we serve and help others. The church community acknowledges everyone has a gift, talent, or ability to contribute that will show God’s love to the world. Everyone who joins the community has a unique ability that makes the ministry more effective. The Church is here to assist people in discovering these gifts and knowing where and how to use them. While all committed people are expected to financially support the ministry, some people serve inside the church while others serve outside the church. For everyone, church service should include telling others about Jesus whether they are right next-door or around the globe. Jesus expects all of us to be equipped to make a difference in the world for the sake of the kingdom of God (Ephesians 4:11-13, I John 3:17-18).
